Please note I do not do waking nights. I offer respite live-in and overnight support and holiday and sickness cover for regular carers. I do not do short visits but I'm happy to discuss your needs if longer periods are needed. I'm pet-friendly, very happy to help look after animals and to cook and/or bake, and to help with gardening, cleaning and tidying, or help with personal care - anything you need, just ask! Everyone is unique and has different needs so the rates given are a guide and always include, of course, insurance, DBS check, Curam fees and VAT. I am also sometimes available for Christmas and New Year cover at my standard rates... please just ask. Please note that I am mask exempt and will not be taking any vaccinations. Not having any grandparents I was drawn to older people as a child and would visit older neighbours and help with ironing, tidying around and filling out forms. I was always fascinated by their early life experiences and loved hearing their stories. On leaving school I went into farming, then to University to study Countryside Management, after which I took a few years out to volunteer in my home town, training as an advisor at my local Citizens' Advice Bureau and with the WRVS delivering Meals On Wheels. In 1997 I moved to London and spent an exciting five years as a Transport Planner and then four years in the Lake District National Park Authority as Traffic & Transport Officer. I started a family in 2002. In 2011 I started working for a local community care organisation, had first aid and medication training and quickly became a Senior Carer taking on Out of Hours management and staff rotas. I then spent two years as a Medical Secretary at a GP practice, consolidating my medical knowledge, and left there to spend the past five years looking after my progressively ill mother, who was nursed in bed with a permanent catheter for the last two years of her life. I was her sole advocate, had Power of Attorney for both financial and health & welfare, and managed her personal affairs as well as her care. I enjoy cleaning, organising, cooking and helping people to get the very most out of life in a limiting situation... I have seen both sides of caring: as both a carer and a broker of care packages. I care about timekeeping, doing things properly and providing added value. Rather than be a time-pressured employee of an agency, I relish the opportunity to make meaningful connections with people and develop trusted friendships: this was what I wanted for my mum. I have a current Enhanced Disclosure certificate and in my previous employment as a community carer I completed medication and moving & handling training, but do not have the paperwork to hand at the moment. I am presently learning Italian, renovating my house and building a wildlife garden and pond, and I enjoy 1940s, 1950s music and classical piano.

DH7 9NQ 199542 Caring is a profession that has engulfed my family. My mum, aunt, and elder sister are nurses/carer. Therefore, it would not be surprising that I have chosen to continue in this field. Also, my desire for embracing being a Health care Support worker is for the satisfaction derived from affecting people's life. The passion and emotional support for caring for patients is something I grew up with as a child shadowing my mum, aunt and elder sister. It's evident that I have something to give out; thus, I fancy this role as a HSW in this industry. I have built that strong relationship with patients and nurses from my years of working in hospitals, nursing homes etc as a healthcare assistant. It's my goal to put patients first in everything I do, giving them a sense of belonging. I value patients, their families, and staff. Respecting their aspirations and commitments in life is paramount. It's vital that I understand the patient's priorities, limits and abilities; with this, I care for them adequately. I don't compromise the quality of care; this has earned me respect from patients and their families. I compassionately care for patients; I feel their pains, and I don't fail to reassure them consistently. I treat all patients the same without discrimination. Living with my grandmother has also fortified my choice in healthcare. I have been working in hospitals and care homes for years and equipped myself with the necessary required skills to care for adult and young people. I have built my confidence in working under a tight schedule and under pressure. I know healthcare support worker is a stressful job where traumatic situations are frequent, but I have determined to put my dream in front of me. I am obliged to always deliver person-centred care to the patients. Patience is one of the key traits that I hold on to each day. I learnt to communicate clearly and concisely working with adult and young people. Timekeeping is another skill that I learnt working in healthcare. I have learnt to apportion tasks in smaller units and set realistic targets. My communication, timekeeping and organisational skills have also helped me function in a team productively. My tolerance and knowledge derived working in some of the most challenging wards like acute medical units, accident & emergency units and critical care units, put together with all the other skills learnt, make me a stronger support worker. It's beautiful when looking into a patient's eyes and sees the gateway to their soul when only a caring touch or word can make a connection. I like being blessed, and I count my blessings daily for all the patients I have helped gain better health or independence in life. High standard and quality care is what I'm about at all times.

Eh23 4Fd 6899 AVAILBLE FOR LIVE IN POSITIONS. I DONT MIND TRVELLING FAR TO PROVIDE CARE. My hobbies are meeting people, playing volleyball, reading, cooking, spending time with family and watching rugby. I've been a carer for just over 12 years now. I've worked mainly in care homes, nursing homes, and community work. My work consists of continence care, support with medication administration, meal planning and preparation, help with chores, and support clients with day to day activities. I have worked with clients that have Dementia, COPD, Stroke, Parkinson's Disease, PEG feeding, Catheter care, Palliative care, and also stoma care. I've done my access to Nursing, Studied Access to Health, Wellbeing and Social Science in Edinburgh College. I am a good carer with empathy. I am able to connect with the client in order to be able to help them. I have a good understanding towards the emotions a client may face as they face new realities. My preference is for live-in positions, ideally 2 weeks on and 1 week off at a time, however this is flexible depending on clients needs and locations, but if these are not available then I am able to do days, nights, waking nights and sleepovers in local areas. I prefer to work for clients in Scotland, but wont mind if I have to travel further, again depending on what is available. I speak fluent English, I don't mind looking after pets. I already have a PVG certificate. I can provide references from previous clients if required.
